Dots Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Dots (“the App”), a pixel art drawing app for iOS developed by xiles (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use the App on iPhone or iPad. By using Dots, you agree to the practices described here.
Summary
- No Dots server. We do not operate a backend that stores your artwork or account data.
- Your drawings stay on your device unless you choose to save or share them elsewhere.
- We do not sell your data and we do not use your artwork for advertising.
- Crash reporting only — the App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash and error reports to improve stability. Your pixel art images are not included in those reports.
What the App does
Dots lets you create pixel art on your device and save the result as an image (for example to your photo library or through the system share sheet). All drawing and saving happens locally on your iPhone or iPad. We do not upload your canvases or exported images to our servers.
Information you create
Your artwork, project files, and any images you export are created and controlled by you. They are stored in the App’s sandbox on your device and, when you save or share, in locations you choose (such as Photos or iCloud Drive, if you use those services). We do not have access to the content of your drawings.
Where your data is stored
On your device
Projects and app data are kept in local storage on your device while you use Dots. Uninstalling the App removes data that lives only inside the App’s sandbox, unless you have copied files elsewhere.
Saving and sharing outside the App
When you export an image or use Share, iOS handles that action. Files may be saved to Photos, Files, AirDrop, or other apps you pick. Those services are provided by Apple or third parties and are governed by their own privacy policies — not by this policy. We do not receive a copy of images you save or share unless you send them to us separately (for example by email for support).
Diagnostics and crash reporting
To improve stability, Dots may send anonymous crash and error reports through Google Firebase Crashlytics. Reports may include technical information such as device model, OS version, App version, and stack traces or error codes. Your pixel art, canvases, and exported images are not included.
Firebase’s handling of data is described in Google Firebase Privacy and Security. We do not use Firebase for advertising or analytics beyond crash reporting in the App.
What we do not collect
- No user account or login required for Dots.
- No collection of your artwork or image files on our servers.
- No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in the App beyond Crashlytics for crashes, as described above.
Website analytics
This privacy policy page and other pages on xiles.app may use Google Analytics to understand general site traffic. That applies to the website only, not to your drawings inside the App.
Children
Dots is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Data in the App remains on your device until you delete projects, clear app data, or uninstall Dots. Images you saved to Photos or other locations remain there until you delete them in those apps.
Your choices
- Choose where to save or share exported images using iOS.
- Delete projects or uninstall the App to remove local app data.
- Review Apple’s privacy settings for Photos, iCloud, and other services you use with exported files.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
